Heritage CouncilThe following groups and individuals will present programs in Multicultural Traditions to your school or community group.

Description: Studio tour and hands on working in clay with one of NM most respected ceramic artists.

Culture: Multicultural, New Mexico & Latin America
Presenter: Sunny Birklund, Puppet Playhouse & Institute of Puppetology
Description: puppet shows, giant puppet parades, traveling puppet museum, papier mache puppet making workshops, presentations on the history of puppetry, especially in New Mexico and Latin America. Our presentations are from cultures worldwide. We have puppets and masks in our collection from New Mexico, Mexico, Vietnam, American WPA, Indonesia, India, England, Africa & others. Our group is multicultural from a variety of ethnic cultures.
Target: all ages, family groups

Presenter: Mike McCartney, Storyteller “Indiana Bones”
Description: To educate, entertain and enlighten audiences through the ancient art of Storytelling while infusing language arts, geography and the history of past cultures, civilizations and legendary individuals. Specialized stories are created from research of folklore, myths, history and science. For example the use of Archeology and Anthropology in the creation of stories related to the opening Museum exhibition of the Brazilian Warau Indian culture’s art. Many unique stories are based on geographical landmarks such as the Devil’s Tower of Wyoming, Chesapeake Bay in Maryland and the Red Rock Country of New Mexico. In addition, stories about historical peoples and individuals are entertaining and infused with factual information.
