RESTAURANTS

Artichoke Café

Good opportunity for individuals. Make appt. with Terry Keene to bring in samples of work. Call the restaurant or 238-1213. If accepted there is a 10% commission on sales.

Central Park Deli

Ask for Bill Schweibinz. Welcomes calls from artists of all genres. Make appt. to bring samples or refer him to your website. Main requirement is enough work to fill space.

Chocolate Café & Bakery

Make appt. with Gary Cline to bring in samples of work. Call the restaurant. No commission on sales. Shows hang at least 2-3 months.

Java Joes

Ask for Michael or Brandy. Call on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.

Ragin' Shrimp

Go to website, www.raginshrimp.com. Send an email by clicking on the "Talk to Us" link, with request to hang artwork and, if possible, include a link to your artwork. As an alternative, call the Ragin' Shrimp office, 268-8936, and leave a detailed message.


CHURCHES

First Unitarian Church

Prefers 2-4 artists, but takes groups up to 8. Books up to a year in advance. Shows hang in sanctuary.

La Mesa Presbyterian Church

Call for information. No set policies.

St. John's Episcopal Cathedral

Four juried shows per year. Submit art in person first Tuesday of Mar, June, Sept and Dec. 10 am - 2 pm. Some shows have themes. Call for complete details.



LIBRARIES

Los Griegos Library

Ask for Peggy Hessing. Usually a waiting list.

Main Library
501 Copper NW, 768-5152
Contact is Ida Mazzoni. Display areas on 2nd Fl. consist of free-standing panels and glass cases. Suggest coming by to see if suitable for your art. If so, see or call Ida. No formal policies, but liability waiver required.

South Broadway Library
1025 Broadway SE, 764-1742
Ask for Victoria Fee or come in person with samples. Wall and display case. Show gets publicity on library website. No fee. Library is in the same building as the South Broadway Cultural Center (see below).

Special Collections Library (former Main Library)
423 Central NE (corner of Edith), 848-1376
Ask for Joe Sabatini. Prefers "New Mexicana" themes and those based on the library's specialties - geneology, history of printing and writing and rare books. Will consider related art and photographs.

 


PUBLIC SITES

Arts Alliance

Groups only. Accepts applications in June and July for following year. Call to be added to list to receive proposal form or download application information from the web site. Application information is posted on the web site annually in May for the following calendar year. Deadline for exhibit applications is in the end of July.

Albuquerque Little Theatre

Groups and individuals. Shows hang for appox. 4 weeks. Call to apply. Ask for Erin Moots.

Expo New Mexico (formerly known as State Fairgrounds)

Talk to Peggy Durkin, who books facilities. Rental rates and other requirements vary depending on building used. There are limited windows of opportunity, but Peggy will consider all ideas.

The Gallery at the Source for Creating Sacredness

Harwood Art Center

Four galleries. Two for juried shows. Proposals considered 4X/yr. in Jan, Apr, July & Oct. Two community galleries on sign up basis. $75/mo. Generally booked 1 year in advance.

Inpost at the Outpost Performance Space

Prefer individuals but will accept proposals from groups. Contact curator Becky Holtzman, becky@beckytomato.com, or call the Outpost for more info. Generally booked up to one year in advance.

KiMo Theater

Requests go through Augustine Romero (see SBCC below). Same process, except no space for sculpture at the KiMo.

South Broadway Cultural Center

Ask for Augustine Romero. Proposals accepted in September for following year. Come by for application form. Minimum of 3 artists. Shows last 2 months. $100/show. 20% commission.



MISCELLANEOUS

Albuquerque Press Club

Shows last 4-6 wks. Club publicizes show and holds reception. No hanging fee, 20% commission on sales. Groups and individuals. Large hanging areas.

Around the Corner Framing Shop

A vehicle sales, rental and leasing business next door to the Arts Alliance. Lots of bright, open wall space. Will consider individuals and groups. Contact manager, Gabe Martinez.
